The name The Dovetail Joint, was chosen for my new venture of woodworking classes, as it expresses my passion for fine woodworking and its techniques, which I have come to appreciate after many years of involvement in working with wood.

Married with three ‘grown up sons’ and living on a small acreage just out of Orange in the Central West of NSW called for many practical skills.

Building, then extending the home as our needs changed, building furniture, pool decks, outdoor settings, there was always a list of things to be built.

I trained as an Industrial Arts Teacher, and started teaching in 1971. I have spent most of my working life involved with imparting those skills to help high school students gain some knowledge of basics and more advanced construction techniques.

I have Recently travelled to USA to Woodworking Schools in Maine and Philadelphia and attended the Sturt School (NSW) for a wood turning course.

These wood turning courses have inspired me to begin my own Wood School aimed at beginners and wood working enthusiasts alike, in the hope of sharing my skills. I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for wood work with you!
